Music: Infinite - Back Review
This blows all the other recent releases by Infinite out of the water. Definitely one of their more public friendly title songs in recent years, 'Back' is a new title song alongside 'Diamond' (another rather smashing hit) in repackaged album 'Be Back'.
I loved the slow start and it's beat drop into a one that's distinctively Infinite, layered with some EDM beats for a modern and addictive pop song. It was one of the songs with the best part arrangements, with our resident rappers stepping up to be stable vocalists as well. Weaker singers still had their fair share, with Sungyeol getting a good few parts that actually complemented his vocal style. Naturally, the stronger ones had their time to shine with Sunggyu getting a stable start and end that shows off his vocal colour without straining it, and Woohyun with his effortlessly powerful (seemingly) choruses and high notes.
While Infinite does great when it comes to naturally transiting from vocal to rap sequences, a song without it does seem to be a nice change of pace.
Definitely one of my top 5s (dare I say), and I can't wait to see them receive their due acclaim.
Also, a quick shoutout to the amazing choreography. I was blown away by the artistry in a pop band; the human mirrors, freeze frames and the usual staggering of moves that they do well. Some serious props to their choreographer!
